Project Context
Dvora is a luxury residential management company in Jersey City serving over 500 active residents. Its app is central to daily operations, letting residents manage payments, cleaning, reservations, and lease processes digitally. I joined as a UX/UI intern and was responsible for redesigning the move-out experience, one of the most operationally critical flows in the platform. Technology is Dvora's main differentiator, so performance and clarity in every workflow directly affects both resident satisfaction and business revenue.. I was responsible for redesigning the move-out experience to make it simpler and more efficient.

Problem Definition
The move-out process was partially manual, inconsistent across platforms, and unclear for residents. Users often did not know what step came next and had to call or email to complete basic tasks. Property managers had no real-time visibility into resident progress, which created bottlenecks, repetitive communication, and delays in apartment turnover. These inefficiencies were estimated to cost between $7,500 and $10,000 monthly. The challenge was not just a UX problem, it was an operational one with direct business impact.

Process Strategy
I started with a heuristic analysis of the existing flow, identifying friction points around information hierarchy, inconsistent UI across web, iPad, and mobile, and a lack of digital signature support. I then conducted 10 semi-structured interviews, 5 with residents and 5 with property managers, to understand where the process broke down for each side. A decision matrix helped align the team on priorities given technical and time constraints. Key findings shaped three design opportunities: process visibility, automation gaps, and reminders and alerts.

Solution Design
Research showed the move-out was failing at the same moment for everyone: when users had to switch from the app to email, print documents, or wait for manual confirmation. I redesigned the flow around a single principle, keep the resident moving forward without needing outside help. This meant introducing a digital signature, a clear 3-step progress tracker, automated scheduling with calendar sync, and real-time status visibility for managers. Each feature was built to eliminate a specific handoff that was causing delays on both sides.

Validation & Results
After implementation, the move-out process became 100% digital across iOS, Android, and web. Operational efficiency improved by 45%, with a significant reduction in calls, emails, and manual follow-ups reported by the management team. Internal usability testing showed a 60% increase in resident satisfaction. The redesign also accelerated apartment turnover, directly reducing revenue loss from delayed unit availability. The solution is currently live across all Dvora platforms.
